In-Situ conservation means the preservation of genetic resources in the natural habitats and environments of plants or animals. It aims to protect endangered plants or animals in their natural habitat, either by protecting the resource itself (plant or animal), by preserving the habitat (place) itself, or by defending these types from predators (in the case of animals) or from pastoral animals (in the case of plants). Internal conservation also aims to curb human activities that harm endangered natural resources. Among the most important benefits of internal conservation is preserving the endangered sites until the communities in them recover and reproduce (whether plant or animal communities), and to ensure the survival of indigenous plants or animals in their natural habitat, which leads to ensuring the continuity of the existence of the ecosystem as a whole.

Among the most important initiatives of the QBG in the internal conservation area is the Threatened Habitats Restoration Program the Rawd Revival Initiative.
